Today, Newark Day Center officers a multitude of comprehensive services which include:
- EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION – provides early care for infants and toddlers and pre-school education for over 200 children ranging in age from 3 months to 5 years. It is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), and licensed in the State of New Jersey. It is a high quality program with certified teachers who are fully aware and trained to implement the most current educational initiatives for young children.
- TRAINING – Newark Day Center conducts training sessions for individuals seeking entry-level Child Development Associate credentials (CDA) in conjunction with the Early Childhood Institute.
- FRESH AIR FUND – Since 1954, The Fresh Air Fund has been sending children to various private camps and paying a fee for each child. The Fund also places children with special needs at camps especially designed to accommodate their needs.
- PARENT AID – Provides support services and resources to parents who have cases with the Division of Child Protection and Permanency. Some children are at risk of being removed from the home and some are working toward reunification. Our varied services can include providing clothing, household furniture, food and other household supplies. A parent aide may also be provided to accompany our clients to important appointments, meetings, and events.
