TEACHER AIDE TRAINING consists of a 15-week program that provides the necessary skills to gain employment as a Teachers’ Aide in a child care center. 

Newark Day Center initiated this model that has since been emulated by other agencies. 

The curriculum has been certified by the New Jersey State Department of Education.  Courses offered are designed to coincide with requirements for the Child Development Associate (CDA) certification.



The Director’s Academy is a 45-hour course designed to provide administrators of child care centers an opportunity to enhance their management skills. The course will cover the following topics:

Planning and evaluation
Fiscal management and legal issues
Marketing and public relations
Staff management and professional development
Facilities management
Leadership and advocacy
Family support and community resources
Educational programming

The Academy is funded by the New Jersey Department of Human Services.
